Tom Robinson’s BBC6 Show on Sunday/Welcome/Christina Aguilera’s favourite venue

Following on from the last post, Tom Robinson’s show contacted me to say they’ll be playing D-E-A-D on their show on Sunday (some time between midnight and 2am)! Woo woo!

If you listened to the track on Tom Robinson and that’s why you’ve come to visit, WELCOME! You can listen to D-E-A-D here:

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

or download it here: D-E-A-D. If you like it, there’s lots more free music to listen to and download in the music section.

Other news… played a lovely gig at Christina Aguilera’s favourite pub, Dirrty South in Lewisham. What a gem of a venue. Here it is:

The Dirrty Sarf.

The night, The Icarus Club, has a really god mix of acts- Arthur Delaney, Andrew Wiltshire, John Ray Carter and Tom Reeve had an age range of about 20 years and a style range as broad as one can have when linked with the common thread of the male voice and the guitar. That’s quite a lot, cynics. The audience varied from friends Tom Reeve had brought along, in their late teens or early twenties, to an 87 year old music fan from Brockley! I frequently find myself asking the question “Who listens to live acoustic* music?”. On the basis of this crowd, the answer is that everyone does. At least in Lewisham.

*I play electric guitar, but the nights I play are typically small acoustic nights. Although on this occasion, technical meltdown meant I played half my set on Andrew Wiltshire’s acoustic guitar (thanks again Andrew). My hands were not happy.

Crap! that pub is literrally outside my road! I knew that Icarus Club sounded promising!
Curse myself for not checking it out.
What did you think of Lewisham. Shame about the pub name, it used to be called The Rose of Lee which I’m sure you’ll agree is much more elegant.

It’s an amazing pub! Big picture windows. I bet it’s great in the spring with all the light streaming through those big ol’ windows.
